Goodbye…

We got back to North Park early Monday morning and were welcomed by Greta, Hannah and Shelby (we were going to sleep on their couches.) When the Megabus got closer to Chicago and we could discern the skyline in the distant we felt like going home. It was sad since we, two days later had to go home, to Sweden.
Isak spent most of that day showing his friend Christian (one of the guys we hung out with in L.A.) around in Chicago before he went back to Sweden and Erik slept and then met up with Anna Benoit and Mike Mirza, a friend from NPU that lives in Michigan. Later at night we went to Stake n’ Shake with Nate, Chelsea and Mike to have a night meal. This was probably the funniest meal ever; we laughed so much (mostly because we were so tired).
The following day we packed our stuff, hung out with people in Helwig (the Gym) and outside and just enjoyed the last full day in Chicago. That night we had decided to fool Jetlag. Our plan was to stay up all night so we could sleep on the airplane. We played Frisbee golf with Abram, Sean, John and Bob, had McDonalds and Starbucks until the sun rose and we went back to the apartment for a short nap. We slept an hour and a half and then said goodbye to some more people and prepared for our departure. Hannah (and the kids she babysat) drove us to the airport and dropped us of with all of our stuff. The flight went fine even though we had an unwanted 3-hour layover in Stockholm (for Americans: the capital of Sweden, Oslo is the capital of Norway you fools). Frida’s mother picked her in Stockholm and the rest of us got on a plane to Gothenburg where friends and family picked us up.
Goodbye Chicago and North park, thank you for a great semester!
PS. Our plan to fool Jetlag did not work out that well. Isak slept 3 hours and Erik two on the airplane instead of the 7-8 we had planned. When Isak got home he went to bed around midnight and thought: “Yes, I got you Jetlag, I did not fall asleep once today, I am going to back in the Swedish sleeping schedule now.” Jetlag was defeated… he thought. Isak woke up Friday morning at 10 AM, Chicago time, which means 4 PM in Sweden…
At last… Please, please, don’t forget us. We made friends for life in America and we will for sure try to see you next year. But, your job is easy, we only require one thing from you: Invite us to your wedding! We will be there if invited, we will make your wedding the party of your life, and we promise to invite you! You’re always welcome to Sweden, at anytime. There’s a bed and food for each one of you whenever you feel like coming. We love you and miss you!
