Johanna and Jarron in Vetter’s kitchen. | Where the Heck are the Restaurants in Kansas City? from Olesund
Countryside Covenant Church was a nice church on the countryside (I am not kidding) that we attended on Sunday morning. The sermon was on Ephesians 2:1-10 and was very good. Isak was kind of tired and did not follow but Erik was on top of the situation and got a lot out of it. Before heading back home we hung out with some friends of Sam’s in the church. For lunch back at Sam’s house we had “Sloppy Joes” (for Swedes: köttfärsås i ett hamburgerbröd) that we enjoyed a lot more than those we had in the cafeteria at North Park.
Jarron and Kurtis went with us when Sam drove us to Kansas City. The drive took three and a half hour and when we arrived we parked by the river and went looking for a restaurant at the Plaza. There were barely any open restaurants! I guess the fact that it was Sunday night played a role again (like in L.A.) but anyway, there should be open restaurants in the country where even the libraries are open 24 hours a day (almost). We walked around for a while until we realized that our bus would leave in half an hour, from the other side of town. We drove and suddenly we were across the river on our way back to where we came from, not good. We laughed a whole lot about it and finally found our way back to where the Megabus was leaving.
We got the best seats, in the front on the top floor of the double-decker bus. Perfect view, nice gas station food, great conversations and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, how much better can a 10-hour bus ride be?

Isak, need to know if you want me to pick you up at the airport so would you please call me or whatever.
Hey boys! I can’t believe you went to McPherson, Kansas. That’s also my hometown. And the Vetter’s home is only about 5 blocks away from the house I grew up in. That’s sooo cool you guys got to see what Kansas is really like. (we don’t all live on farms haha)Hope you boys enjoyed your trip there. LOVE the photos and you boys! God Bless!
