To see the Humongous, Magnificent and Amazing Hollywood in 45 Minutes

Our plan was to leave the house we stayed in around 11 AM, but due to some major oversleeping (Erik, Anders and Christian), we did not leave until one and a half hour later. We drove across the city once more and finally got to Hollywood. The expectations were flying pretty high, but when we realized we could see it all in 45 minutes, the expectations crashed like Japanese Kamikaze pilots. Sure, it was kind of cool to see the Walk of Fame, the street performers and the Hollywood sign, but it is really a lot of fuzz about nothing.

We tried to find Beverly Hills but we only found some “regular-rich-people-houses”, boring, so we went downtown where Anders and Christian dropped us of so they would make it before rush hour, which is insane in L.A.

We checked in our bags and went on a walk in downtown L.A. looking for a grocery store, and finally after following wrong directions for half an hour we found a pharmacy with a little food in it. On the way we had some great pasta at Pasta Gina, not too much, but cheap and good.

The train had two floors and we were fortunate enough to get seats on the top floor. The leg space between the seats was gigantic and the chairs were very comfy, this however, did not improve our sleep too much, and our train got in by 5 AM to Flagstaff, not too exciting. The guy on the other side of the aisle in the train started talking to us and explained that his name was Nick. He was an Englishman on an America trip after being ski instructor in Canada for a few months. He was a really nice guy and we talked and hung out for the whole trip. Erik also became friends with a 10-year old guy who stalked him until he could watch a movie with him, so Erik and Damien watched Juno on Erik’s IPod. What a great combo!

Hahaha I get so happy to see my brother Isak doing this huge hardcore roadtrip! And the pictures you’re putting up… man they are just sooo beautiful, hahah it’s like a big commercial for “the land that has it all” (OBS jag har fortfarande manga harda ord att saga om utlandspolitiken och miljopolicyn).
