Santa Monica Beach and Random Encounters

Anders, Isak, and Christian.   |   Santa Monica Beach and Random Encounters from Olesund

In the morning we had scrambled eggs and a great (but sweet) cinnamon bun-like cake. After breakfast we drove down through L.A. to Santa Monica beach. We could almost see Mitch Buchanan running in his red shorts along the water, with a red life-saving thing in his hand. This was the place where they shot Baywatch back in the day, the beach street with the bikers and rollerbladers, the palm trees and the biking cops (this is also where the bike cop TV-show Pacific Blue was set). We hung out on the beach until it got chilly, around 6 and then took a walk on the pier with the fun fair. The water was really cold but everyone went in, except Isak and Wilhelm, the chickens.

On the pier we saw a guy whose name is Robel, who used to go in the same middle school class as Christian and Anders in Sweden. He was visiting his uncle in L.A. for a few days after getting out of school in N.Y. It is a small world!

We had some dinner and then went to visit a girl, Miriam, who also went to their class, who was on vacation, visiting her brother who studied film in L.A. We had some coffee at a café in Korea Town, where the brother, Filemon lived. When we left the café we went and hung out with Robel for a bit before going back to our new home in Burbank.
