L.A is so Lame?

The Chorale at Master’s College.   |   L.A is so Lame? from Olesund

We arrived in L.A. around 10 A.M. Sunday morning, tired, hungry and totally lost. The bus stop was a bit off, and we did not really have any idea of where we were. We just wanted to get downtown, to the action, but when we finally got there it was empty. No people, barely no cars, no stores, nothing was there, but I guess we were in the wrong part and it was Sunday morning. We were hungry and tired so we ended up in IHOP (International House of Pancakes) and we stayed there for three hours. Free coffee, juice and hot chocolate refills, good company and good food kept us there. Erik, the supposedly hungry one had a huge plate of pancakes, only pancakes, while the rest of us had omelets and stuff like that; he did not even manage to finish half of it. “Too much sugar, no protein”, he complained.

After IHOP we parted, Erik and I went to a park to chill and wait for our friends to pick us up and Tommy, Alex and Wilhelm went to their motel in Santa Monica. Anders Voss, Isak’s roommate and Christian Lind, a friend from Sweden had been road tripping for a few weeks and were now in L.A. so we hade decided to hang out with them during our stay there.

We walked for a bit with our bags, and after a while we came to a little park that Erik had scouted out on a map. The park was in front of the Los Angeles Public library and had cute little fountains and patches of grass. We tossed some Frisbee and read our books for a few hours until Anders and Christian picked us up. Anders had somehow got us hooked up with a couple living in Burbank, L.A. so we went there and dropped our stuff of and went to church with them. Grace Community Church was a big church with a big campus but even though they were big they had a plain sanctuary and seemed to spend their money on better stuff than decorating a room. A choir from the college connected to the church, The Master’s Chorals, performed and they were very talented. After church we went back to their house, had dinner and went to bed, exhausted.
