Surfing and Cruzing

We woke up around ten and said goodbye to Sam, who went to Big Sur to hike with one of his housemates. So, we were in the house of a guy we had known for 24 hours with another housemate, who we met just when we woke up that morning. Pretty crazy, but nice. Erik, who wanted to surf asked Mike, the housemate, if he could go with him. So Erik ended up on a borrowed board in a borrowed wetsuit in the freezing cold Pacific Ocean, trying to surf. He thought it was hard, cold and very strenuous to battle the waves, but totally worth it.

When Mike and Erik got back from the surfing Mike took us to Ripcurl’s Memorial Day sale, where the clothes were cheaper than dirt and then dropped us of downtown. We dropped our bags of at our friend’s motel and then walked around in Santa Cruz. We strolled up and down Pacific Street, the main street in Santa Cruz and had great burgers and ice cream at Fosters Freeze. Jamming in a music store, listening to live music in a record store, checking out the big sales in the different surf and skate stores was what we did during the afternoon. Later that night Erik joined Frida and Joanna at a nice café where they listened to a sweet blues band and meanwhile, Isak went and saw Indiana Jones 4 with Tommy, Wilhelm and Alexander. At 12.55 the bus left for Los Angeles, and all of us were on the bus, even though some of us almost came late because of lame cashiers at Taco Bell. Frida and Joanna were going to get of in Santa Barbara, and the rest of us in L.A.

    You guys are brave for finding a ride on Craigslist! I’ve known people who have done that before, and they ended up with creepy people. But that’s sweet that you found some fun people! Hope the bus ride to LA was alright.
